JUST REGULAR PEOPLE

Agent Provocateur saw sales jump by more than 12%, helped by US First Lady Michelle Obama spending $50,000 IN ONE SHOPPING SPREE!

The First Lady closed off part of Madison Avenue to spend time in the luxury lingerie shop. Their purchases contributed to a market-spanking 12.5% lift in sales.

Agent Provocateur, which is styled on vintage Hollywood glamour, sells handmade Calais lace corsets that sell for over $1400, which could ruffle the feathers of more than just President Barack Obama in an election year. While HE says he's fighting for the middle class, The Queen is definitely NOT.

THIS MAN HAS IT ALL.....

As the Republican primary season kicks into full swing, and as the climate becomes nastier and nastier – the 2012 elections are looking more and more tenuous for our side.  This is a bad thing.

However….If there is enough division in the Republican party after the 2012 elections - and it's sure LOOKING that way.... it may be time for the Tea Party to change its name to THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY and go national AS a 3rd party - they/we would have four years to organize, could probably get a lot of crossovers from the Republican party and the Libertarians and maybe pick up a few seats in 2014 nationally (enough to swing the balance of power).  I don't see this as all bad, except it pisses me off that Obama will probably get re-elected.

It just may REALLY time for some Hope and Change

SARAH PALIN - FACEBOOK: CANNIBALS IN THE GOP ESTABLISHMENT EMPLOY TACTICS OF THE LEFT

Friday January 27, 2012

We have witnessed something very disturbing this week. The Republican establishment which fought Ronald Reagan in the 1970s and which continues to fight the grassroots Tea Party movement today has adopted the tactics of the left in using the media and the politics of personal destruction to attack an opponent.
We will look back on this week and realize that something changed. I have given numerous interviews wherein I espoused the benefits of thorough vetting during aggressive contested primary elections, but this week’s tactics aren’t what I meant. Those who claim allegiance to Ronald Reagan’s 11th Commandment should stop and think about where we are today. Ronald Reagan and Barry Goldwater, the fathers of the modern conservative movement, would be ashamed of us in this primary. Let me make clear that I have no problem with the routine rough and tumble of a heated campaign. As I said at the first Tea Party convention two years ago, I am in favor of contested primaries and healthy, pointed debate. They help focus candidates and the electorate. I have fought in tough and heated contested primaries myself. But what we have seen in Florida this week is beyond the pale. It was unprecedented in GOP primaries. I’ve seen it before – heck, I lived it before – but not in a GOP primary race.

I am sadly too familiar with these tactics because they were used against the GOP ticket in 2008. The left seeks to single someone out and destroy his or her record and reputation and family using the media as a channel to dump handpicked and half-baked campaign opposition research on the public. The difference in 2008 was that I was largely unknown to the American public, so they had no way of differentiating between the lies and the truth. All of it came at them at once as “facts” about me. But Newt Gingrich is known to us – both the good and the bad.

We know that Newt fought in the trenches during the Reagan Revolution. As Rush Limbaugh pointed out, Newt was among a handful of Republican Congressman who would regularly take to the House floor to defend Reagan at a time when conservatives didn’t have Fox News or talk radio or conservative blogs to give any balance to the liberal mainstream media. Newt actually came at Reagan’s administration “from the right” to remind Americans that freer markets and tougher national defense would win our future. But this week a few handpicked and selectively edited comments which Newt made during his 40-year career were used to claim that Newt was somehow anti-Reagan and isn’t conservative enough to go against the accepted moderate in the primary race. (I know, it makes no sense, and the GOP establishment hopes you won’t stop and think about this nonsense. Mark Levin and others have shown the ridiculousness of this.)  To add insult to injury, this “anti-Reagan” claim was made by a candidate who admitted to not even supporting or voting for Reagan. He actually was against the Reagan movement, donated to liberal candidates, and said he didn’t want to go back to the Reagan days. You can’t change history. We know that Newt Gingrich brought the Reagan Revolution into the 1990s. We know it because none other than Nancy Reagan herself announced this when she presented Newt with an award, telling us, “The dramatic movement of 1995 is an outgrowth of a much earlier crusade that goes back half a century. Barry Goldwater handed the torch to Ronnie, and in turn Ronnie turned that torch over to Newt and the Republican members of Congress to keep that dream alive.” As Rush and others pointed out, if Nancy Reagan had ever thought that Newt was in any way an opponent of her beloved husband, she would never have even appeared on a stage with him, let alone presented him with an award and said such kind things about him. Nor would Reagan’s son, Michael Reagan, have chosen to endorse Newt in this primary race. There are no two greater keepers of the Reagan legacy than Nancy and Michael Reagan. What we saw with this ridiculous opposition dump on Newt was nothing short of Stalin-esque rewriting of history.  It was Alinsky tactics at their worst.

But this whole thing isn’t really about Newt Gingrich vs. Mitt Romney. It is about the GOP establishment vs. the Tea Party grassroots and independent Americans who are sick of the politics of personal destruction used now by both parties’ operatives with a complicit media egging it on. In fact, the establishment has been just as dismissive of Ron Paul and Rick Santorum. Newt is an imperfect vessel for Tea Party support, but in South Carolina the Tea Party chose to get behind him instead of the old guard’s choice. In response, the GOP establishment voices denounced South Carolinian voters with the same vitriol we usually see from the left when they spew hatred at everyday Americans “bitterly clinging” to their faith and their Second Amendment rights. The Tea Party was once again told to sit down and shut up and listen to the “wisdom” of their betters. We were reminded of the litany of Tea Party endorsed candidates in 2010 who didn’t win. Well, here’s a little newsflash to the establishment: without the Tea Party there would have been no historic 2010 victory at all.

I spoke up before the South Carolina primary to urge voters there to keep this primary going because I have great concern about the GOP establishment trying to anoint a candidate without the blessing of the grassroots and all the needed energy and resources we as commonsense constitutional conservatives could bring to the general election in order to defeat President Obama. Now, I respect Governor Romney and his success. But there are serious concerns about his record and whether as a politician he consistently applied conservative principles and how this impacts the agenda moving forward. The questions need answers now. That is why this primary should not be rushed to an end. We need to vet this. Pundits in the Beltway are gleefully proclaiming that this primary race is over after Florida, despite 46 states still not having chimed in. Well, perhaps it’s possible that it will come to a speedy end in just four days; but with these questions left unanswered, it will not have come to a satisfactory conclusion. Without this necessary vetting process, the unanswered question of Governor Romney’s conservative bona fides and the unanswered and false attacks on Newt Gingrich will hang in the air to demoralize many in the electorate. The Tea Party grassroots will certainly feel disenfranchised and disenchanted with the perceived orchestrated outcome from self-proclaimed movers and shakers trying to sew this all up. And, trust me, during the general election, Governor Romney’s statements and record in the private sector will be relentlessly parsed over by the opposition in excruciating detail to frighten off swing voters. This is why we need a fair primary that is not prematurely cut short by the GOP establishment using Alinsky tactics to kneecap Governor Romney’s chief rival.

As I said in my speech in Iowa last September, the challenge of this election is not simply to replace President Obama. The real challenge is who and what we will replace him with. It’s not enough to just change up the uniform. If we don’t change the team and the game plan, we won’t save our country. We truly need sudden and relentless reform in Washington to defend our republic, though it’s becoming clearer that the old guard wants anything but that. That is why we should all be concerned by the tactics employed by the establishment this week. We will not save our country by becoming like the left. And I question whether the GOP establishment would ever employ the same harsh tactics they used on Newt against Obama. I didn’t see it in 2008. Many of these same characters sat on their thumbs in ‘08 and let Obama escape unvetted. Oddly, they’re now using every available microscope and endoscope – along with rewriting history – in attempts to character assassinate anyone challenging their chosen one in their own party’s primary. So, one must ask, who are they really running against?

AFTER THREE YEARS, IT'S STILL BUSH'S FAULT!

OBAMA:  BUSH IS FOOD STAMP PRESIDENT, NOT ME

"First of all, I don't put people on food stamps. People become eligible for food stamps. Second of all, the initial expansion of food-stamp eligibility happened under my Republican predecessor, not under me. Number three, when you have a disastrous economic crash that results in 8 million people losing their jobs, more people are going to need more support from government."  BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA [1]

Let's look a little closer, shall we?

Direct payments. The amount of money the federal government hands out in direct payments to individuals steadily increased over the past four decades, but shot up under Obama, climbing by almost $600 billion — a 32% increase — in his first three years. And Obama's last budget called for these payments to climb another $500 billion by 2016, at which point they would account for fully two-thirds of all federal spending.

People getting benefits. According to the Census Bureau 49% now live in homes where at least one person gets a federal benefit — Social Security, workers comp, unemployment, subsidized housing, and the like. That's up from 44% the year before Obama took office, and way up from 1983, when fewer than a third were government beneficiaries.

Food stamps. This year, more than 46 million (15% of all Americans) will get food stamps. That's 45% higher than when Obama took office, and twice as high as the average for the previous 40 years. This surge was driven in part by the recession, but also because Obama boosted the benefit amount as part of his stimulus plan.

Disability. The number of people on Social Security disability has steadily climbed since the 1970s, thanks mainly to easier eligibility rules. But their numbers jumped 10% in Obama's first two years in office, according to the Social Security Administration. That sharp rise was due largely to meager job prospects since the recession ended in 2009. When employment opportunities are scarce, experts note, many who could otherwise work sign up for disability benefits instead. [2]

THE CHICKEN SHIT PRESS….

Just in case anyone has missed this – the mainstream media is a bunch of liberal chicken shit shills for Obama.  Now – I know we say this all the time, and the MSM IS carrying Obama’s water.

There are two things the Republicans, en masse, should learn from Newt Gingrich, and the eventual Republican candidate would be wise to make a note and follow through:

1.  The mainstream media will NEVER like conservatives and will always do what they can to prop up Obama and the left.  Being ‘Mr. Nice Guy’ gets you nothing but rolled by them. Period.  Accept this as a fact and move on.

2.  We do not have to take their shit!  Newt is ahead because he’s calling them out for the biased Obamatrons they are, and when he does, they visibly cower.
Conservatives have two opponents in this election – Obama and the leftist in the media.  Here are TWO easy lines every Republican running for office needs to memorize and USE, because they work.

What kind of question is that? [and say what YOU want to say, not what the questioner wants]

Have you ever considered asking President Obama [or insert name of opponent] that question?  [Then proceed to outline how Obama would be forced to reply to the same question, had he been asked]

These two questions will put the press under the heat lamp, illustrate their bias, point out why Obama should be asked the question, and get OUR message out there.  By and large, these idiot reporters are wussies and will back down when confronted with the truth.

Newt completely NAILED the media in the South Carolina debate when he said “I am tired of the elite media protecting Barack Obama by attacking Republicans” – and the crowd gave him a standing ‘O’.

Newt’s a professor – learn from him!

NEWT LEADING ROMNEY IN FLORIDA.... THE PLOT THICKENS

Less than two weeks ago, Mitt Romney had a 22-point lead in Florida, but that’s ancient history in the race for the Republican presidential nomination. Following his big win in South Carolina on Saturday, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich now is on top in Florida by nine.
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Florida Republican Primary Voters, taken Sunday evening, finds Gingrich earning 41% of the vote with Romney in second at 32%. Former U.S. Senator Rick Santorum runs third with 11%, while Texas Congressman Ron Paul attracts support from eight percent (8%). Nine percent (9%) remain undecided.
Throughout the GOP race, Romney has always benefited from the perception that he was the strongest general election candidate in the field. However, among Florida voters at the moment, that is no longer the case. Forty-two percent (42%) now believe Gingrich would be the strongest candidate against Obama, while 39% say the same of Romney.
Of course - this is before the multi-millionaire starts his vicious  anti-Newt air war....

ALL IN THE FAMILY....

I missed this back in June - was it replayed over and over by the cable outlets or the MSM?  NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....

It seems that DNC  Chairwoman's PARENTS [- yes, plural and yes, DEBBIE WASSERMAN-SHULTZ] have both been sentenced to jail time for tax evasion and political corruption [felonies all].

6/29/2011 - Richard Rubin was sentenced this morning to ten months in federal prison.  Rubin, 66, [father of DW-S] pleaded guilty in April to federal tax evasion after failing to report $100,000 in fees he received from the town of Davie for a land deal he brokered in 2004.

6/29/2011 - Following the issuance of a warrant for her arrest, former Broward County Commissioner Diana Wasserman-Rubin [mother of DW-S] turned herself in to authorities Tuesday evening.

She posted $24,500 in bond just before midnight.

Earlier in the day, Wasserman-Rubin resigned her seat as a BROWARD County Commissioner.  [Does that county ring a bell?].  The warrant, obtained by the Broward State Attorney’s Office, lists seven counts [felonies all] of unlawful compensation for improperly advocating for and benefiting from government grants written by her husband, Richard Rubin.

Actually Mom is trying to negotiate a plea bargain - and she has rejected a plea offer of 8 years in the pen last December.  To Be Continued....

ROMNEY'S FUZZY MATH

In June 1994, Romney ran the following ad in his Senate campaign against Ted Kennedy.
“Mitt Romney has spent his life building more than 20 businesses and helping to create more than 10,000 jobs,” says a narrator. “So when it comes to creating jobs, he’s not just talk. He’s done it. . . . Doesn’t it make sense for us to have a senator with real-world experience?” (“Romney ads key economic expertise; But rival says TV campaign is thin on details,” The Boston Globe, June 15, 1994).

Now, apparently, those 10,000 jobs have increased tenfold, apparently in part because of Bain investments in which Romney had at best a tangential role…if he is to continue to make claims about job creation, the Romney campaign needs to provide a real accounting of how many jobs were gained or lost through Bain Capital investments while the firm managed these companies — and while Romney was chief executive. Any jobs counted after either of those data points simply do not pass the laugh test.

DO NOT LET ANYONE TELL YOU ROMNEY HAS THE NOMINATION IN THE BAG!

The Republicans will have a CONVENTION in August.  DELEGATES will go to that CONVENTION and they will vote according to their states’ primaries or caucuses.

January 3 – IOWA CAUCUS:  Delegates available = 28

The numbers shown after each candidate are the delegate totals and are a projection [as seen by the AP, CNN and MSNBC].  They have not been officially pledged yet.

               AP-CNN-MSNBC
Romney       13 – 7 - 11
Santorum    12 – 7 - 11
Paul             0 – 7 - 3
Perry           0 – 2 - 0
Gingrich      0 – 2 - 0
Huntsman    0 – 0 – 0
Note:  3 delegates are ‘unprojected’

January 10 – NEW HAMPSHIRE PRIMARY:  Delegates = 12

The numbers shown after each candidate are the delegate totals and are a projection [as seen by the FOX, CNN and MSNBC].  They have not been officially pledged yet.

                   FOX-CNN-MSNBC
Romney       7 – 7 - 7
Santorum    0 – 0 -0
Paul             3 – 3 - 3
Perry           0 – 0 - 0
Gingrich      0 – 0 - 0
Huntsman    2 – 2 - 2

C’mon! First of all – these numbers are the opinions of the talking heads!  Secondly, look what’s just down the road.

Next up is South Carolina with 25 delegates, and then five days later is Florida with 50‼!  For goodness sake – GEORGIA has76 delegates – to be sure Newt will get SOME of those!  And TEXAS has 155 – what happens if Perry runs the table in Texas?  Pennsylvania has 72 – what if Santorum gets them all?

It's way too soon to throw in the towel!  The MSM is declaring Romney the winner BECAUSE THAT'S WHO THEY WANT TO WIN!.. Well I say - not so darn fast!  Besides, it's wrong for 2-3 little states casting less than 400,000 votes to select the party's nominee!

PREVENTING VOTER FRAUD – OR I SHOULD SAY ‘ATTEMPTING’ TO PREVENT IT

Any registered voter may challenge any OTHER registered voters right to vote.

While there may be regulations as to deadlines and methods, this is pretty much the law of the land.

The registration records of each county are open for inspection by any registered voter of the county, including any chief judge or judge of elections, during the normal business hours of the county board of elections on the days when the board's office is open.  At those times the right of any person to register, remain registered, or vote shall be subject to objection and challenge.

In most states, challenges to registered voters must be in writing.  Once a challenge is placed against a name, it is the job of the governing authority – in North Carolina that would be the Board of Elections – to notify the voter of the challenge, and to instruct the voter how to remove the challenge.  Any voter with a challenge by his name on election day may be allowed to vote with a ‘provisional’ ballot, which will be held pending removal of the challenge, or discarded if the challenge is not removed.

Bear in mind – this procedure varies by state and the regulations are always subject to change.

Now.   Before you begin your little campaign, contact your state party organization and ask what THEY are doing to prevent fraud. They may have something you can help out with.  If not, ASK WHY!

So - how can you as a conscientious citizen help make sure a voter is, in fact, eligible to vote?  It’s easy with some time and a small monetary investment.

1 - Visit your local Board of Elections and find out how many registered voters there are in your precinct.

2 – Tell them you plan to do a ‘mailing’ and would like to get the addresses of each voter.  Most likely they will NOT give you a printed list BUT you should be allowed access (in their office) by law to view them, AND use the lists to address envelopes.  Ask if this is allowed.  [In actuality, if you have a decent precinct/county/state party operation, they may already have all this in their computers – if so, the hard work is done for you.]

3 – Prepare some sort of generic, single page flyer, e.g.   ‘Election day is around the corner!  Don’t forget to do your civic duty and turn out to vote‼  See you at the polls.’

4 – Stuff them in envelopes and attach FIRST CLASS POSTAGE.  Be SURE to put a return address on the envelope.  VERIFY with the post office that the envelopes will be returned to sender if undeliverable – AND THAT THE ENVELOPE WILL BE MARKED WITH THE REASON FOR NON-DELIVERY [see list below] – this is imperative, as otherwise you are wasting your time!

5 – Pop them in the mailbox.  Now all you have to do is sit and wait.

The following … endorsements are frequently noted on returned mail:
          Insufficient Address
          Left (Gone Away)
          Moved
          Deceased
          Unknown
          Unclaimed
          Refused
          Return–Undeliverable

There are other conditions of return but they don’t apply to first class mail.

Make a neat little pile of any returned envelopes.  DO NOT OPEN THEM.  These are the basis for your challenge to any registered voter.

After sufficient time – 21-30 days, take the envelopes to the Board of Elections and complete the process of challenging each voter’s eligibility.  It then becomes the duty of the Board to notify each challenged person and tell them how they can remove the challenge.

Envelopes.  Stamps.  Time.  Is this too much trouble to prevent election fraud in your precinct?

Before doing this, talk to the head of the Board of Elections to confirm that this IS a proper way to challenge.  If it is – Go for it!  And do it soon!  This process takes time.

Here’s an interesting link – it has recent news and lots of voting information:

MAYBE A REASON FOR SOME HOPE....

I have been REALLY in the dumper since the Iowa Caucuses and the New Hampshire primary, mainly because my guy - Newt - was killed by Romney's superpacs.  He's fighting back now but it's too little, too late, too mean.  If he can pull out a win in South Carolina, he will still be in the fight, but I'm slowly coming to grips with the idea of a Romney candidacy.  OK - I'll hold my nose...........

BUT - I just heard something on Cavuto that made my head snap up and put a HUGE smile on my face.  He was talking VEEPS for Romney - and mentioned that everyone wants Rubio.  [ Dayum - including ME - he's the total package and I love his politics]  Well - here's another suggestion: Senator RAND Paul !!!!  I mean - just think of the possibilities!

1 - SURELY it would stop a 3rd party run by the father!  That would be HUGE, because he (Ron) refuses to rule it out.

2 - It SHOULD draw in a lot of the Daddy's Libertarians

3 - The Tea Party and the conservatives would be THRILLED!  It sure would make it easier to hold my nose - ya know!

I'm gonna have a glass of wine on THAT one!

THE [DEAD] BEAT GOES ON....

SATURDAY NIGHT'S DEBATE - IF YOU CAN CALL IT THAT

Well……

I watched the debate last night from bed and didn’t take any notes because there was little that was noteworthy, in my opinion.  It was more of an ABC free documentary for Mitt than anything else – I can’t wait to see the time breakdown.  But what kept me awake more than anything was waiting to see if Diane Sawyer was going to flop forward on the table.  Admittedly I do NOT watch anything on ABC except Revenge so I don’t know if Sawyer’s demeanor is like that all the time or if she was stoned again.  If that’s her style all the time, she comes across as a drama queen who thinks she has great hair.

Ron Paul was a waste of space last night.  He was testy and petulant, seldom answered the questions posed to him, and mostly wandered in his answers, hitting his talking points.  He’s a one-trick pony and I’m thinking more and more that his support is coming from the ‘legalize drugs’ crowd.

Huntsman is done.  The others successfully painted him as an Obama man.  I don’t know anything about Utah other than what he’s said about all he did during his four years as governor.  I googled him.  It said he dropped out of high school to pursue a career as a keyboard player in a rock band.  He later got his G.E.D. and 10 years after that, after a time at the University of Utah, he got his bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania.  Good thing his father was a billionaire.

Perry’s done.  He said he would return troops to Iraq to keep the peace we lost so many to win, and which is now teetering.  Strategically it may be the right thing to do, but politically it was suicide.  Shame, because I think he’s probably a smart man.

Newt had a good night even tho the commentators treated him like an afterthought.  He did make a faux pas when he said if he weren’t there at the debate he’d be watching a championship college BASKETBALL game… could have been nerves or fatigue but no one picked up on it.

Santorum was great.  He answered his questions without wandering or searching for words.  It got a little contentious when Stephy [Ed.  How does this man keep a job in front of a camera?] brought up Paul’s attacks about Santorum being a liar and a big spender.  Santorum’s defense was excellent.  Funny – Stephanopoulos wasn’t interested in pursuing Ron Paul’s racism.

ABC should be investigated by the FCC for giving Romney so much free political air time.  He is clearly their man and the commentators clearly had an agenda.  They tried to get Mitt to say the states have a right to ban birth control – a question Stephy kept repeating and repeating, and frankly should have gone more to Santorum.  The crowd finally boo’d, several of the candidates said they would want Roe v. Wade repealed, and Stephy moved on.  Someone should tell Stephanopoulos that the states HAVE TO RIGHT to do pretty much anything not enumerated in the Constitution as the job of the FEDERAL government, including ban birth control.  It was a stupid gotcha question.  States GIVE OUT FREE BIRTH CONTROL – why would they want to ban it?  Romney did ok but he was plastic and unexciting and I think conservatives are still looking for the anti-Romney candidate.  And there’s still time because of the way the Republicans designed their primaries.  Guess we will see.

The most telling comment of the entire night came in the wrap-up from Donna Brazile, a big time Democrat party wonk, when she declared: ‘Mitt won and that’s great for us‼!'  Her joy was apparent as she accidentally told the truth as she saw it

Overall, it was a boring debate – absolutely nothing new of substance.  ABC shed any hint of being neutral, which we’ve known for years they are not.  I just wonder if Joe 6-pack saw the blatant bias.  My guess is nope – Joe was watching football!

MEMORY LANE, GENERAL HORSESHIT, AND THE NEW OBAMA DOCTRINE

As I was listening to the news today, something reminded me of this interview back in October, 2008 - everyone thought Colin Powell was a Republican.  Too funny....  funny at the time and even funnier now, because people actually gave a rat's hairy ass what this man thought.

Obama graced the corridors of the Pentagon today.  He went there to meet with Sec. of Defense Leon Panetta, who praised President Obama's leadership and guidance on the Pentagon's new military strategy.  [The term Panetta used was ‘unprecedented’.]  Perhaps Obama got this strategic global expertise as a community organizer.  Mr Obama's blueprint for the military's future acknowledges that America will no longer have the resources to conduct two major operations simultaneously.  We’ll be able to do battle with one enemy while shaking our national finger at another.  This is just one more step in this president’s successful goal to weaken this nation.
“Troop- and time-intensive counter-insurgency operations, a staple of U.S. military strategy since the 2007 "surge" of extra troops to Iraq, would be far more limited, with the force no longer sized for large-scale, long-term missions.”
As part of the new Obama Doctrine, we will reduce our presence in the European theater [YOYO, Israel] and concentrate our attention and assets in the Pacific – where all those horrible enemies are hiding, and coincidentally, about as far from the Middle East as we can get.

Obama’s plan for national defense is, among other things, to cut half a million troops.  Most of these will be Marines and Army – those military personnel defined as the ‘boots on the ground.’  I find this an abomination.  These men and women, most of whom joined up after we were attacked in 2001, and most of whom have had at least two, and maybe more tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, will now be dumped onto the streets.  No benefits, no 401K – just a warm handshake from a president who despises them.  This always happens when we start cutting the defense budget after a war.  The sad thing is, all the money this R.I.F. will save – about half a trillion dollars – will NOT go to pay down the deficit/debt, but will find its way into new entitlements programs, subsidies for green industries, or other crony stimulus plans to buy votes for 2012.

Obama is cutting the  military based on political and economic criteria and not national defense requirements.

I wonder if Colin Powell still thinks Obama was the best choice.

LOCATE YOUR CONGRESSIONAL REPRESENTATIVE AND SENATORS

It's time to start letting the people in government know what you are thinking and what matters to you.  We need to start rattling some cages in D.C.  The silent majority needs to be silent no more!

CURIOUSER AND CURIOUSER...

North Carolina has strange voting habits.  Until 2010, the state legislature had been controlled by the Democrats since the late 1800’s, but the Republicans won both houses a year ago.  Same for the Governor’s mansion – there have only been FIVE Republican governors since 1836.  But the people of North Carolina have traditionally voted Republican at the national level – until 2008, when the state went for Obama.  This year, we have been named a swing state for some reason.  I’d say we have been swinging all along!

There was an interesting tidbit in the local paper on Monday that may be the key to how North Carolina votes this year.
‘A new study of voter registration data in the key battleground states of North Carolina and Nevada [Ed. note:  yaaaaa] shows that since 2008 there has been a drastic drop in the levels of young voters – a group that overwhelmingly voted for Obama in 2008.’  Youth registrations [the 18-25 group] LOST 48,500 voters during that time.  Of that net loss, 80.4% were among young Democrats, or in real numbers, over 39,000.  [This study found similar stats for Nevada.] The study calls this a ‘profound loss’ of the registration advantage the Democrats held in 2008.

The study also found that in the three years since the 2008 elections, North Carolina had a NET GAIN of 93,709 new registrations.  Guess what party was the winner in this.

I guess this explains Obama’s repeated visits to the state, drumming up support on our many college campuses.  Funny thing is, it’s a double-edged sword for him.  This area has major concentration of colleges and universities [UNC, NCSU and Duke to name the bigger ones] and a major concentration of Democrats [feeding off these colleges as well as filling 99% of the government jobs in Raleigh] so Obama is in his element.  However, because of the lay of the land, when he visits, the major highways of three counties basically become parking lots because of his entourage – and this totally infuriates those same liberals.

And now for the fun part!  Because of the 2010 census, North Carolina picked up a congressional seat, which has required redistricting.  Our idiot governor, Bev Perdue, suggested a bipartisan committee be chosen to work out the new district plans.  When the Republicans got up off the floor where they were rolling around laughing, they politely told her ‘I don’t think so.’  The new district map will almost surely guarantee two sitting democrats won’t have a chance of winning, and there should be four Republican gains in the state.  There are challenges all up and down the line but oddly enough, the DOJ [Holder must not have gotten THIS memo either] has given the plan its blessing, so speculation is that the suits from leftist groups will be deemed to be without merit. This entire process is truly funny since the Democrats – in all their years of control – never once invited the minority’s input when THEY were gerrymandering the state.

Anyway, perhaps the Democrats in other states are also seeing a similar reversal of fortunes.  We can only hope.....
