THE BUSSING CONVENTION IN CHARLOTTE (a/k/a the 2012 DNC)

The first OFFICIAL DEMOCRAT CONVENTION event was on Friday when, according to the Charlotte DNC homepage, ‘The Jumah at the 2012 DNC’ will welcome some 20,000 Muslims (bussed in) to Charlotte, DEM-dubbed an “official event”.

The Jumah prayer will be followed by a myriad of other as yet unidentified programs and events, but leading up to the Islam Regal Banquet.
In actuality,
… several HUNDRED Muslims gathered for a traditional Jumah prayer Friday afternoon in Marshall Park, as members of a Christian group carried signs – “Jesus is the Way” and “Islam is a Lie” – and played Christian music that could be heard throughout the park.
Muslim leaders were disappointed that the event, expected to draw thousands, attracted about 300. But they said their message – that Muslim Americans should take part in the political process – was more important than their number.

Then on Friday the Democrats started giving away tickets to Obama’s acceptance speech on Thursday night in an attempt to fill Panther Stadium in Charlotte.

Today, from the AP:
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — College students from across North Carolina will arrive in Charlotte by the busload.  Same with members of predominantly black churches in neighboring South Carolina.
Their goal: help fill a 74,000-seat outdoor stadium to capacity when President Barack Obama accepts the Democratic nomination Thursday night.

Adding to this, yesterday Joe Klein (columnist and journalist) said it’s time for Obama to START playing the race card.  Video and comments at the link below.  Sit back and enjoy!

The final insult added to injury:  Steelers vs. Bengals Thursday night – start time 8:00 (ESPN) – same as the start time for Obama’s acceptance speech.

GO STEELERS!

  1. New poll out today, conducted for The Hill, said only 40 percent of likely voters said they felt Obama deserves a second term. Fifty-two percent said he did not. That has got to be what The Obama team is also seeing, AND his supporters, too, if they have to bring in bus loads college kids in for this thing.
