After hearing his speech to the American people on Monday night (so funny that ABC wouldn’t carry it if it interfered with Dancing With The Stars – we really have our priorities, don’t we!), everything has been made perfectly clear.  Except... well... for just one or two points.

For instance, Obama described the great humanitarian purpose of sending cruise missiles into Libya, but neglected to mention that it was in support of rebels who were attempting to overthrow the government.  Or that some of those rebels are affiliated with Al Qaeda.  Come to think of it, he never mentioned the Libyan rebels at all.

The president emphasized that he authorized military force to protect America's ‘interests and values’... although his Defense Secretary Robert Gates says that our country has no ‘vital interest’ there, and Barack Obama has previously only mentioned American ‘values’ when condemning them overseas.

After reviewing his speech, the president didn't exactly make clear why we want to intervene in Libya but not any of the other hotspots in the world... although the distinction may have been made a bit clearer when an official in his administration announced that Libyan rebels (remember them?) could now start selling oil.

But despite his ‘go it alone,’ ‘cowboy diplomacy,’ ‘do it for oil,’ attitude, Mr. Obama took time to distance himself from President George Bush... making a sneering reference to the many years that ‘regime change’  has taken in Iraq, versus Obama's ‘days not weeks’ miracle in Libya.  And you KNOW that the MSM is dying to claim that Obama’s such a fantastic CinC that ‘his war’ was a roaring FAST success.

He didn't clarify his 'Gadhafi has to go' comment, followed by ' If Gadhafi stays..'.  Hmmm.. guess he's leaving himself some wiggle room there, but the press hasn't 'pressed' him on that one.

He didn't quite explain exactly when our military involvement there will end, but he DID say the handover to NATO would be Wednesday, to which NATO said ‘whoaaa, cowboy – not so fast’.  And I must have missed what our ultimate goal is.  Or why he prefers to consult with the U.N. on military matters rather than America's elected officials.

Stay tuned – I’m sure it will all be clear soon.

p.s.  What the hell is a 'kinetic military action'?  Is that better or worse than an 'overseas contingency plan'?

Will North Carolina be the latest to turn away federal funds for high-speed rail?

As part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, President Obama set aside $8 billion to jump-start high-speed rail in regions across the country.  The funds were divvied up between 13 planned high-speed corridors in 30 states and D.C.

North Carolina is receiving $545 million for further development of the Southeast High Speed Rail Corridor, a nearly 500-mile route that will allow trains to travel between Charlotte, Durham, Raleigh and Washington, D.C. at top speeds of up to 90-110 miles per hour and an average speed of 86 mph.  North Carolina’s mileage share is approximately 200 miles (Charlotte, via Raleigh/Durham to the Virginia state line).  That is roughly $2,725,000 PER MILE.  (Remember this number)

The stretch of EXISTING AMTRAK railway that is to be ‘upgraded’ runs between Charlotte and Raleigh.  The current passenger service is woefully underused.  The trip from Charlotte to Raleigh takes 3:48.  The return trip takes 3:54.  The distance is approximately 140 miles.  This works out to approximately $381,500,000 for the rail between Charlotte and the Triangle.  (Remember this number, too)

Now, let’s do a little math drill.  Three trains a day leave the Triangle area (Raleigh – Durham – Cary) for the trip TO Charlotte.

This happens 365 days a year.

NCDOT says in 2007 (latest numbers available) 181,379 passengers boarded these trains.

181,379 / 3 / 365 = 166 passengers a day per train.  We are going to spend $381,500,000 to improve the train service for 166 passengers a day.  What’s wrong with that, you ask?

Are you sitting down?

Do you have a drink in your hand?  Or perhaps a handgun?

Scroll down…..

Keep going…..

A little more….

BTW - the high speed train will serve fewer people because it won't be stopping in Podunkville and BumF*** Nowhere

p.s. North Carolina's (REPUBLICAN) legislature may be about to join the "no thank you" chorus.  A one-page bill, titled "No High-Speed Rail Money from Federal Gov't" was introduced by State Representatives Ric Killian and Phillip Frye last week.  It would send North Carolina's $545 million share of high-speed rail funds back to the feds.  Our Democrat governor will most likely veto the bill.

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is like an onion left in the ground too long.  You start to peel back the layers and you keep finding uglier and uglier things, and when you get to the core of it, it just plain stinks!

1. Did you know that . . . since Jan. 1 of this year (2011), you cannot use your flex-account at work (FSA) or health savings account (HSA) to purchase over-the-counter medicines?

2. Did you know that . . . since July 1 of last year (2010), Americans have been paying a 10 percent excise tax on all indoor tanning services?

3. Did you know that . . . starting in 2018, if your health insurance is “too good” or considered a “Cadillac” plan, then you will incur a new 40 percent tax on your health plan?

4. Did you know that . . . Obamacare has 21 new or higher taxes in it, totaling over $500 billion in increased taxes going to the government over 10 years?

5. Did you know that . . . beginning in 2014, individuals and families that do not purchase “qualifying”  -- as defined by federal bureaucrats -- health insurance will be forced to pay a yearly tax penalty?

6. Did you know that . . . 7 tax hikes in Obamacare directly break President Obama’s “firm pledge” not to raise any form of taxes on individuals making less than $200,000 per year and families making less than $250,000 per year?

7. Did you know that . . . the capital gains tax rate under Obamacare will rise to 23.8 percent starting in 2012? That is a 59 percent increase from its current rate.

8. Did you know that . . . in 2013, those Americans facing the highest medical bills and the least ability to pay for them will find their ability to deduct medical expenses is further limited (medical expenses must be reduced by 10 percent of income under Obamacare, rather than current law’s 7.5 percent)

9. Did you know that . . . beginning in 2014, businesses with over 50 employees will be forced to offer health coverage for everyone, or pay a hefty tax for each employee?

10. Did you know that . . . in 2013, Obamacare caps the amount individuals and families can put in their flexible savings accounts at $2500? Currently there is no cap and these accounts are used for a myriad of health expenses including paying upwards of $14,000 in tuition to special needs schools for some parents?

A word search of the 2,409-page Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (H.R. 3590) and the 150-page Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 (H.R. 4872) reveals that the term “tax” is used 255 times, “taxable” is used 208 times, and “excise tax” is used 17 times.

Other terms of interest are as follows:

Term            Number of uses

“Tax”           255 times

“Taxable”     208 times

“Excise tax” 17 times

“Taxes”        28 times

“Fee”           183 times

“Penalty”     132 times

“Require”     208 times

“Must”         51 times

“Shall”         4,384 times

I would visit you in return.... but the emails for posting your comments are <noreply> and your 'RRR' logo doesn't seem to take me anywhere!  HELP ME!  lol... thanks for reading my stuff... as you can see, I'm terribly opinionated!

1. Of course I look familiar.  I was here just last week cleaning your carpets, painting your shutters, or delivering your new refrigerator.

2. Hey, thanks for letting me use the bathroom when I was working in your yard last week.  While I was in there, I unlatched the back window to make my return a little easier.

3. Love those flowers.  That tells me you have taste... and taste means there are nice things inside.  Those yard toys your kids leave out always make me wonder what type of gaming system they have.

4. Yes, I really do look for newspapers piled up on the driveway.  And I might leave a pizza flyer in your front door to see how long it takes you to remove it.

5. If it snows while you're out of town, get a neighbor to create car and foot tracks into the house.  Virgin drifts in the driveway are a dead giveaway.

6. If decorative glass is part of your front entrance, don't let your alarm company install the control pad where I can see if it's set.  That makes it too easy.

7. A good security company alarms the window over the sink.  And the windows on the second floor, which often access the master bedroom - and your jewelry.  It's not a bad idea to put motion detectors up there too.

8. It's raining, you're fumbling with your umbrella, and you forget to lock your door - understandable. But understand this: I don't take a day off because of bad weather.

9. I always knock first.  If you answer, I'll ask for directions somewhere or offer to clean your gutters.  (Don't take me up on it.)

10. Do you really think I won't look in your sock drawer?  I always check dresser drawers, the bedside table, and the medicine cabinet.

11. Here's a helpful hint: I almost never go into kids' rooms.

12. You're right: I won't have enough time to break into that safe where you keep your valuables.  But if it's not bolted down, I'll take it with me.

13. A loud TV or radio can be a better deterrent than the best alarm system. If you're reluctant to leave your TV on while you're out of town, you can buy a $35 device that works on a timer and simulates the flickering glow of a real television. (Find it at )

14. Sometimes, I carry a clipboard.  Sometimes, I dress like a lawn guy and carry a rake. I do my best to never, ever look like a crook.

15. The two things I hate most: loud dogs and nosy neighbors.

16. I'll break a window to get in, even if it makes a little noise.  If your neighbor hears one loud sound, he'll stop what he's doing and wait to hear it again.  If he doesn't hear it again, he'll just go back to what he was doing.  It's human nature.

17. I'm not complaining, but why would you pay all that money for a fancy alarm system and leave your house without setting it?

18. I love looking in your windows. I'm looking for signs that you're home, and for flat screen TVs or gaming systems I'd like.  I'll drive or walk through your neighborhood at night, before you close the blinds, just to pick my targets.

19. Avoid announcing your vacation on your Facebook page.  It's easier than you think to look up your address.

20. To you, leaving that window open just a crack during the day is a way to let in a little fresh air.  To me, it's an invitation.

21. If you don't answer when I knock, I try the door.  Occasionally, I hit the jackpot and walk right in.

WASP SPRAY:   A can wasp (flying insect) spray can shoot up to twenty feet away and is a lot more accurate than pepper spray and can hit the assailant before he is close enough to you to overpower you. The wasp spray temporarily blinds an attacker until he get to the hospital for an antidote. Keeps a can on your desk in the office.  It doesn't attract attention from people like a can of pepper spray would. Keep one nearby at home for home protection.

CAR ALARM:  Put your car keys beside your bed at night.  Tell your spouse, your children, your neighbors, your parents, your Dr.'s office, the check-out girl at the market, everyone you run across.  Put your car keys beside your bed at night.

If you hear a noise outside your home or someone trying to get in your house, just press the panic button for your car.  The alarm will be set off, and the horn will continue to sound until either you turn it off or the car battery dies.  Test it.  It will go off from most everywhere inside your house and will keep honking until your battery runs down or until you reset it with the button on the key fob chain.  It works if you park in your driveway or garage.  If your car alarm goes off when someone is trying to break into your house, odds are the burglar/rapist won't stick around.  After a few seconds all the neighbors will be looking out their windows to see who is out there and sure enough the criminal won't want that.  And remember to carry your keys while walking to your car in a parking lot.  The alarm can work the same way there.  This is something that should really be shared with everyone  Maybe it could save a life or a sexual abuse crime.

Today, our nation will once again be gifted with a speech made by the greatest orator since the dawn of time.  Barack Hussein Obama has deigned to give Americans a hint of insight into why he went to war with Libya and, since he declared that the operation would take only "days, not weeks" over a week ago... how he won the war.

Publishers of history books have surely stopped the presses, waiting for Mr. Obama's inspirational words.  Because in times of great crisis, this man...this great thinker...has shown over and over again that he can magically and poetically capture the very essence of any issue, armed with nothing but a team of speech writers and a bank of teleprompters.

So we look forward to Mr. Obama's uplifting victory speech, in which he'll explain exactly how he was able to wrap up America's "kinetic military involvement" in Libya so quickly and efficiently.

It will surely be a "teachable moment" for all of us.

Taking a page from the Ronald Reagan handbook (keep it simple)…. My platform for my presidential run will be:

#1  JOB GROWTH THRU ENERGY INDEPENDENCE:  Mine for coal… increases jobs from mining to equipment manufacturing to transportation to end use; same effects for oil industry ….  But add reduction in prices of fuel which reduces costs of goods transported overland, saves consumers at the pump; same effects for nuclear industry – put construction on the fast track with facilities already in the permitting pipeline – we do not need more taxes, we need more taxPAYERS - this is NOT a trickle down job creation policy - there will be job creation in every direction.

#2  COMPLETE REALIGNMENT OF OUR FOREIGN POLICY:  Cease all foreign aid (other than humanitarian) to all countries that do not support us; stop funding the United Nations and give them six months to vacate the premises AND the country; review ALL trade agreements and commence treating other countries’ imports as they treat ours – no exceptions;  and we WILL stand behind our allies at all times

#3  NATIONAL SECURITY:  We WILL profile.  We WILL protect our borders.  We WILL stop illegal immigration.  We will repeal the ‘anchor baby’ law.  We will make it illegal to hire 'undocumented Democrats' for any job.  We will build the missile defense system in Poland.  We WILL be the superpower of the world again.

#4  REDUCE THE SIZE AND SCOPE OF GOVERNMENT:  Begin the privatization of Social Security with the goal of being out of the retirement business in a generation; get mostly out of the insurance business (Obamacare, Medicare) with the goal of citizens taking responsibility for their OWN needs; and on day #1, institute a spending AND hiring freeze for the entire federal government and implement a 5% ANNUAL BUDGET REDUCTION IN EVERY DEPARTMENT EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY… a real baseline cut – not a 5% reduction in the rate of growth (this one would be the ‘January Surprise’ since it would be a bitch to campaign on.)

Keep it simple, stupid!

This is from Hope & Change....

The White House delivered good news to Colonel Muammar Gadhafi yesterday when, in attempting to explain Barack Obama's increasingly confusing goals in Libya (currently believed to be "we're staying until Duke wins") a spokesman said that the American mission is now to "install a democratic system"...which sounds just a teeny bit more ambitious than a no-fly zone.

But the reason this is good news for Gadhafi is because if he just follows Obama's model of "democracy," he won't really have to change very much to be in compliance!

Free elections?  No problem...especially when you can have armed hooligans at the polling places (and make sure they're not prosecuted) and a "wink-wink, nudge-nudge" voter registration system.

Bipartisanship?  The same kind that Obama used in ramming through healthcare...and adding secret funding language to disempower future legislators?  Well, that should be easy.

Election results not in your favor?  Again, not an issue - just have your minority representatives ride camels to the nearest Oasis to cool their heels, then have a judge declare that the majority party can't legally make a move without them!

With conditions this easy to meet, we assume that Colonel Gadhafi will be striking a deal with America's alleged president any day now.  Before anyone thinks to really raise the stakes and demand not just democracy...but freedom.

The Bolivian President and Liberal Democratic Party (Russia leader and Vice-Chairman of the State Duma) Vladimir Zhirinovsky have launched a campaign to have the Nobel Committee strip President Obama of his Peace Prize!  Laffing!  Gotta love it, love it, love it!

Here’s a human interest story that I love…

WWE® Superstar John Cena  has racked up victory after victory during his successful career in sports entertainment.  More importantly, he has quietly achieved another impressive record: granting the wishes of 200 children with life-threatening medical conditions through the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Cena, who also serves as a Wish Ambassador for the Foundation, granted his 200th wish on CBS’s “The Talk” television program on Thursday, Dec. 9 (airing Dec. 10).  Cena surprised the child, 9-year-old Shayan of Agoura Hills, Calif., on the program and invited him to attend Monday Night Raw® in New Orleans as part of his wish.

Cena reached the 200th wish milestone in just six years, joining NASCAR drivers Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt Jr. and former WWE Superstar Hulk Hogan as celebrity wish granters who have fulfilled 200 wishes.  Overall, World Wrestling Entertainment has granted more than 3,500 wishes with the Make-A-Wish Foundation in the past 25 years.

Note that they do this with their OWN money, quietly and seldom without recognition… unlike Hollywood maggots who want OUR donations to do good works in front of TV cameras….. yeah – wrestlers and rednecks – God bless ‘em.

Pelosi hospitalised in Rome after feeling unwell

Barack Obama surprised the world (and probably himself) by authorizing a full-out military assault on Libya while heading out the door for his trip to Brazil. According to inside sources, the critical moment occurred when the Joint Chiefs asked the alleged president if we were in "Go mode for Operation Odyssey Dawn," and he said "whatever..." while trying to decide which Speedos to pack.

Libyan facilities have already been on the receiving end of 112 Tomahawk missiles, which is part of our military's contribution to the "international coalition" which is finally standing up to Gadhafi.

And since Hope n' Change really doesn't like genocidal, terrorist despots, you'd think we'd finally applaud something that Barack Obama has done. And you'd be dead wrong!

Our military assault on Libya isn't a show of's a show of having America's bluff called after two years of Obama showing no discernible strength to the world. Meaning that for all of our military strength, America had lost the all-important tool of deterrence, which previously allowed us to suppress violence by making credible threats.

But Mr. Obama's threats weren't credible. Or even discernible. Which is why Gadhafi felt confident about slaughtering his own people. And it was only when Gadhafi prepared the "final cleansing" that Obama was forced to take last-minute action...a large, violent, and potentially long-lasting action...because any smaller measures had already been taken off the table by the president's previous dithering and failure to show real interest in the earliest days of the conflict.

Libya's Colonel Gadhafi is now said to be arming one million of his people for ground operations. Which seems fairly stupid at first glance. After all, how can one million poorly trained, poorly armed Libyans stand up against American soldiers? Well, it turns out they won't have to, because our alleged Commander in Chief has already announced that we won't put any "boots on the ground," which surely came as a relief...and highly valuable military intelligence... to Muammar Gadhafi.

Additionally, Navy Admiral Mullen told NBC news that Gadhafi may remain in power, and our military action "isn't about seeing him go." Meaning that the primary purpose of this action is to protect Barack Obama's political ass after he's pushed his doctrine of weakness - and the world - into the danger zone.

Saving $6 billion every two weeks - that sounds great!  Spending $72 billion is one day - WTH!!!!  That should tell you what's wrong with the federal government getting into the education business!

Contact your representative and BOTH of your senators....  they need to know we are serious about the spending cuts..........

What do we know, or not know, about the man who became president?  We have no proof of him being born in the United States because he will not produce a birth certificate.  Nor are there any grade transcripts from elementary school thru college.  And a paltry handful of people who supposedly knew him in high school and college have come forward.  If YOU had gone to college with the president, wouldn’t YOU want to bask in his limelight?  Odd.

He was singled out early in life as someone who could make waves.  He looked good, he talked ‘white’, and he was a charismatic speaker.  [Ralph Nader accused Obama of downplaying poverty issues, trying to "talk white" and appealing to "white guilt"]

In his second year at law school, Obama decided to run for law review president after a conversation with a black friend.  "I said I was not planning to run and [his friend] said, `yes you are because that is a door that needs to be kicked down and you can take it down.’  "

In his two years as Editor of the Harvard Law Review, it was said that he never wrote anything, though there HAS been a ‘discovered’ unsigned article that is said to be his – about the rights (or lack thereof) of a fetus.  An unsigned — and previously unattributed — 1990 article unearthed by Politico offers a glimpse at Obama's views on abortion policy and the law during his student days, and provides a rare addition to his body of work.  The word is that he DID write, but his articles were unsigned.  Odd?  His name doesn't appear on any legal scholarship.  So no ‘record’ to hurt or help him down the road.

The Obama campaign … provided a statement on Harvard Law Review letterhead confirming that the unsigned piece was Obama's - the only record of the anonymous authors is kept in the office of the Review president - and that records showed it was the only piece he'd written for the Review.

After law school, he returned to Chicago and organized an aggressive voter registration effort that registered over 100,000 voters and aided in the election of President Bill Clinton and Senator Carol Moseley Braun, the first African-American woman ever elected to the U.S. Senate.  Soon after, he joined a local civil rights law firm, and he became a lecturer of constitutional law at the University of Chicago.

In 1996, Obama was elected to the Illinois State Senate from the south side neighborhood of Hyde Park, in Chicago's 13th District.  An element of controversy surrounded the election, due to Obama's legal challenges to the petition signatures of all four opponents in the race, resulting in their subsequent disqualification.

In other words, the Chicago machine eliminated his opposition.

[While in the State Senate]  Obama passed a bill to put limits on racial profiling and place cameras in police interrogation rooms.  The racial profiling bill was originally worked on by Senator Rickey Hendon, had been previously the efforts of other Senators.  Nonetheless, Obama struck a deal with then-head of the Illinois Senate, Emil Jones, in a well-recorded conversation asking Jones to make him a U.S. Senator, following which, Jones appointed him head of the prominent, headline-grabbing legislation worked on by other Senators to raise his political profile…he built his entire legislative record in Illinois in a single year.  In his last (of seven) years in the State Senate, Obama sponsored a whopping 26 bills passed into law - including many he cited in his presidential campaign when attacked as inexperienced.  It was a stunning achievement that started him on the path of national politics — and he couldn't have done it without Jones.  In other words, he plagiarized the work of others, taking credit to boost his resume.  Jones saw the potential.

In 2000, he ran unsuccessfully in the Democratic primary for Illinois' 1st Congressional district against incumbent Bobby Rush.  Rush had suggested during the campaign that Obama "wasn't black enough" for the position, and stated, "He went to Harvard and became an educated fool.  We’re not impressed with these folks with these Eastern elite degrees."  In the primarily black district, Obama struggled for support from the black community since, as the New York Times noted, he was viewed as a Harvard professor living in Hyde Park.  Rush received 61% of the vote, while Obama received 30%.

Would NOT happen again.

In 2004, Obama ran for the U.S. Senate seat to be vacated by Sen. Peter Fitzgerald.  Despite opposition in the Primary Election from tough challenger Blair Hull, Hull would collapse after pressure from journalists ILLEGALLY unsealed his divorce files.  Again, the machine took out his opponents.  Obama took 54% of the vote and became the Democrat candidate for the U.S. Senate.

History was to repeat as his Republican opponent, Jack Ryan, who was leading Obama in the polls, was also forced to withdraw because of ILLEGAL release of HIS divorce records.  Forced to scramble for a candidate, the Republicans tapped Alan Keyes to run but he had residency issues that, while finally resolved, were used to beat him up during the campaign.  Keyes also ran a far right, radical campaign.  Obama won the general election with 70% of the vote.  Are you starting to see a pattern here?

As an Illinois Senator, he voted ‘present’ 129 times.  The New York Times reported that the records show at least 36 occasions in which Obama was either the only state senator to vote present or was part of a group of six or fewer to vote that way.

As a United States senator, he voted against the Iraq war.  Most of his other votes were ‘present’, or he was simply absent and cast no vote at all.  This meant he had no record to defend in the 2008 campaign.

So Obama arrives as the Democrat Party candidate for president, never having taken a position on any major issue.

His first presidential decision was a gamble that he is living to regret.  With the economy on the skids because of the mortgage industry disaster, Mr. President made a POLITICAL decision rather than an ECONOMIC decision on the stimulus.  He was betting that the natural, cyclic, and historic ‘growth/recession’ of the economy would take care of the slipping economy, and he went on a spending spree that will most likely bring about the end of this country as we know it.

His other ‘decisions’ except for his determination to socialize the health care industry, have all been weak.  He was late coming to the dance with the oil spill in the Gulf.  In more than one case, he has twiddled his thumbs until a direction showed itself (Egypt, for instance) and then he jumps in and says ‘me, too!  Me, too!  Same for Libya – that uprising is over and now he decides to jump in.

What we have here is a PRESIDENT WHO CANNOT MAKE A DECISION AND LIVE WITH THE CONSEQUENCES.  Because he has NEVER had to do it!  He doesn’t even know the decision making PROCESS.  And as for taking responsibility, look back – when something goes south, it’s always another’s fault (usually Bush’s).

We have a president with a community organizer mentality – he jumped into the fray with Prof. Gates and Sgt. James Crowley, saying Crowley acted stupidly before ever having the facts.  Hence the ‘beer summit’.  He jumped into the Arizona massacre, implying the shooter was a right wing nut, but he had no facts.  And most recently, he said he was ‘walking the picket lines’ with the unions in Wisconsin.

The Middle East  is crumbling before our eyes; Iran is close to having nuclear weapons; Obama has insulted most of our European allies; he hung Poland out to dry on the missile defense system planned there; Japan is facing a disaster of indescribable proportions, gas prices are approaching $4.00 yet we cannot drill; electricity prices are rising but his administration is impeding coal mining; more and more people are out of work; and Obama refuses to come to the table to reduce government spending.

He has picked all four #1 seeds to be in the Final Four of the NCAA tourney.  I’m sure he struggled with this decision.

Today the community organizer arrives in Brazil for a vacation with the family.

Obama's schedule today shows four (1-2-3-4) events that are CLOSED TO THE PRESS...... yet

In about 30 minutes, he will be receiving the SUNSHINE WEEK AWARD for his TRANSPARENCY IN GOVERNMENT!!!!!!  ROFLMAO!

H/T to Rush...... I would not believe this unless I had seen it for myself!

The SUNSHINE AWARD apparently carries the same 'prestige' as the NOBEL PEACE PRIZE!

If you haven't bought your 2011 version of Turbo-Tax yet, you may want to check out the FREE on-line tax prep sites, starting with the IRS,,id=118506,00.html

And here's TurboTax's freebie:

Seems there's a new law - if you SELL a tax prep product, you have to offer a free version.  Anyone besides me have a problem with that?  Why are people being arrested and fined for downloading music from sites like Napster?  Based on the tax-prep logic, if you sell it, you have to give it away too.  Our tax dollars at work and at the mercy of small, liberal brains.

But I digress.... if you think the government isn't taxing the rich, check out the Alternative Minimum Tax.... created to make sure that the 'rich' didn't escape paying their fair share... this 'tax the rich' krap has been demagogued until I want to throw up!  Did you ever get a job from a poor man?  Pfftttt... Congress did - and they are making us (the ones who gave them their jobs) poorer by the hour.

Here's my oft repeated suggestion to get the attention of the sheeple:
          1)  All employees should be paid their GROSS (yeah) SALARY IN CASH - COUNT IT
          2)  They then hand back to their employer:  FICA taxes, FEDERAL withholding taxes, STATE withholding taxes. MEDICARE taxes, and any other miscellaneous chit that's taken back from you, the worker.
          3)  Look what you have left in your hand - COUNT IT

We have a president suffering from NPD and a staff surrounding and protecting him to save their OWN jobs!  Obama is delusional and needs to be impeached for incompetence!

Read my prior post and tell me you disagree!

The crisis in Japan, the unresolved budget wars at home and continuing unrest in the Middle East have raised questions about whether President Obama will continue with business as usual on his trip to Latin America this weekend.

At a briefing with reporters on Tuesday, White House press secretary Jay Carney said no plans have changed, global crises notwithstanding.

“Obviously, the trip is on, and the president will be going to Latin America, and he's looking forward to having discussions with leaders in the region about our bilateral relationship,” Carney said.

Carney insisted that Obama is “capable” of maintaining contact with Washington throughout the trip, and National Security Adviser Tom Donilon will be traveling with him as well.

Asked by The Wall Street Journal’s Laura Meckler whether it was “awkward” for Obama to go to Latin America while “the rest of the world is exploding,”  Carney, a little piqued, dismissed the question.

“Laura, he's the president of the United States,” he said.  “And there are major issues all the time that the president has to contend with, which is one of the reasons why he has such a substantial support framework around him when he travels.”

Carney took one more question about the possibility of an early return to the states, but he declined to play the guessing game.  “If I could predict what could happen in the future, I'd be a rich man,” Carney said.  “We watch everything when we travel just as we watch everything when we’re in house.”

Still, the White House has canceled Obama’s travel plans before for what it considered important domestic affairs. He twice postponed planned visits to Indonesia and Australia last year – first to oversee the passage of the health care bill, and a few months later as the BP oil leak grabbed the country’s attention.

[Carney doesn't seem to have the personality, IQ or patience for this job]

Attorney General Eric Holder famously (if not tactfully) called America "a nation of cowards" when it comes to discussing race honestly. Which is why we're sure he'll appreciate our honesty in saying that his brand of racism is entirely unacceptable.

Holder recently defended his decision not to prosecute Black Panthers who were threatening white voters by saying that the uniformed, nightstick wielding thugs were "my people." And sticking to his theme, Holder is now bending the law to put a lot more Blacks into uniform, and not only equip them with nightsticks... but also tasers, revolvers, and shotguns.

Specifically, the Department of Justice found that the Dayton police department had too few African-Americans...because not enough of them could pass the basic entrance exams. It wasn't exactly a lofty bar: there are two tests, and passing only required scores of 66% and 72%...until Holder got involved and ordered them to lower the bar. Now, applicants can get in with scores of 58% and 63%, which previously would have been an "F" and a "D." The policy change is so ludicrous, even the head of Dayton's NAACP is saying it's a bad idea and refuses to support it.

According to Dayton's president of the Fraternal Order of Police, "It becomes a safety issue to have an incompetent officer next to you in a life and death situation." No - really?

But as this administration has shown time and time Fort Hood, in promoting women in the military without battlefield experience, and now on the streets of Dayton...they believe "diversity" is much more important than life and death, not to mention the law.

An opinion which should be acceptable only to a nation of cowards.

If I were the leader of Japan, I would tell the United States, thanks but ummmmm no thanks!  In a nation whose coast was devastated last Friday by a tsunami spawned by a 9.0 magnitude earthquake, the Japanese people have begun the cleanup, in spite of the pending dangers of a nuclear disaster.  It's been four days.  If Haiti is an example of American help.......... pass.

But look closer to home.

The Haitian earthquake struck 14 months ago, killing 316,000

Magnitude:  7.0

3,000,000 people to lose their homes

More than 1,000,000 people STILL displaced

More than a million displaced people STILL live under tents and tarpaulins.  International donors promised Haiti $5.3 billion at a March 2010 donor’s conference; but reconstruction, of the build-back-better kind envisioned at the conference, has barely begun.

Officials’ sole point of pride six months after the earthquake — that disease and violence had been averted — vanished with the outbreak of cholera.

As of mid-December, 2010, a cholera outbreak had claimed more than 2,100 lives with over 47,000 hospitalized

On May 21, 2009, Gov. Bev Perdue announced a series of initiatives designed to “strengthen North Carolina’s green economy” — including a revolving loan fund to finance energy efficiency measures in companies and government agencies, using federal stimulus money to fund green businesses, and boosting spending for green job training classes in community colleges.

“The state that gets green right will own the next 50 years,” Perdue said. “I intend for North Carolina to be that state.”

With me so far? So North Carolina get $1,000,000 to ‘DEFINE’ (that’s the operative word here) green jobs, even though in January 2010, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics announced it was starting the process at the FEDERAL level to define and measure green jobs.

Well, it turns out that a lot of ‘green’ jobs already exist! So N.C. did this survey and came up with ‘definitions’…. (I hope you are sitting down).

Using these definitions, a construction worker who installs insulation, a pipefitter who installs a valve that controls stormwater release, an electrician who installs a new heat pump thermostat, a handyman who repairs a water heater, and a consultant who develops “energy efficiency analysis proposals including budgets and work scopes” would be considered doing green jobs. Nearly anyone who works for the N.C. Department of Environment and Natural Resources or a similar regulatory body would be defined as working in a green industry or providing green jobs.

Energy-efficient construction (including new construction and retrofitting) are green jobs. Pollution prevention (including waste management and recycling) and environmental cleanup – you got it – green jobs. The survey allows employers to state that an employee who provides janitorial services and whose duties include collecting paper, soda cans, or plastic bottles for recycling is working in a green job.

Seems North Carolina’s been green before it was cool to be green.

My head is spinning here. I would bet money that Bev Perdue is the one who came up with the term ‘JOBS SAVED.’

Another example of your tax (stimulus) dollar at work!

(CNN) -- The powerful earthquake that unleashed a devastating tsunami Friday appears to have moved the main island of Japan by 8 feet (2.4 meters) and shifted the Earth on its axis.

"At this point, we know that one GPS station moved (8 feet), and we have seen a map from GSI (Geospatial Information Authority) in Japan showing the pattern of shift over a large area is consistent with about that much shift of the land mass," said Kenneth Hudnut, a geophysicist with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
Reports from the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology in Italy estimated the 8.9-magnitude quake shifted the planet on its axis by nearly 4 inches (10 centimeters).

This just proves to me beyond a doubt that we have no effect on this planet... we didn't cause this and we couldn't have prevented it, even if gasoline had never been invented.  Just an amazing and tragic event.

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Students from Exploris Middle School in Raleigh are safe in Japan after missing Friday's massive earthquake.

The students' plane was supposed to land in Tokyo about ten minutes before the earthquake struck but instead it was delayed in Dallas and later diverted to Osaka.

Some parents were panicked after learning the children's flight didn't land as expected.  One Raleigh family had twins on the trip.

"It was a nerve wracking night because we knew they still weren't there, and one of us had woken up and we had the computer on our room," parent Jennifer Prestifilippo said. "And we looked up at the flight tracker and saw that the plane wasn't showing anymore."  The concerned mother said she and her husband finally got through to American Airlines.

"Their flight from Dallas was scheduled to land in Tokyo at 2:30, which would have been before the earthquake at 2:46 so I am so grateful," Prestifilippo said.

All eight students, their principal and a teacher from Exploris are safe.  "They are in a hotel in Osaka, and they're going to spend the night there and from I understand, they're going to take the bus back to Osaka's airport," Prestifillippo said.

WASHINGTON — Talks between the N.F.L. and the players UNION broke off Friday, and the UNION prepared to dissolve itself, sending the country’s most popular sport into labor turmoil and imperiling the 2011 season.

Owners are expected to lock out players Saturday morning, and the UNION likely will seek an injunction to prevent owners from doing so.  Big-name players like Drew Brees and Tom Brady also may file antitrust lawsuits against the owners.

The COLLECTIVE BARGAINING agreement expires at midnight, and after 16 sessions with the federal mediator George Cohen, the sides still remain far apart on the percentages of revenues each would receive, the fundamental issue that divides them.

The UNION is also demanding to look at the owner's books.  ROFL!  If I were an owner, I'd tell them they could just eat a booger!

Army to Punish Nine Officers in Connection With Fort Hood Shootings

The Army announced Thursday it will punish nine officers in connection with the Fort Hood shootings for "leadership failures relating to the career of Maj. Hasan."

Army doctor Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan is accused of killing 13 people and wounding 29 others on November 5, 2009, at Fort Hood in Texas.

The Army does not identify the officers who will be punished nor does it reveal their specific punishments. A press release from the Army reads:

"The severity of each action varies depending on case-specific facts and circumstances. In certain cases, it may take several weeks to ensure that each officer is accorded appropriate due process and to take final action. In order to protect the due process rights of the officers involved, the Army will not identify them or provide details of the administrative actions at this time. Upon the completion of all cases, the Army will review whether the release of additional information would be appropriate."

Army Secretary Peter McHugh has sent a comprehensive review of the incident to Secretary Gates.

NINE OFFICERS! That's HUGE...thing is... I'm sure Hasan was given OER's that would allow the chain of command to pass him along with a secret sigh of 'good riddance' - because to write on his OER that his commander suspected Hasan was a radical islamist would have been a career killer for the senior officer writing the report. Wonder what the court marshall punishment is for political correctness....

Black women queuing up and climbing into the stirrups mounted on Planned Parenthood's abortion tables, much like Jewish women lining up and meekly shuffling along to Hitler's concentration camp's gas ovens in the early 1940s, holding their children by the hand, disrobing with no sense of modesty, modesty long since starved and beaten out of them, the final result for both groups of women being the same, or at least nearly so -- the euthanasia of both races -- the difference being that the Jewish women had no choice, America's black women sacrifice their innocent children voluntarily.

President Barack Obama hugs North Carolina Gov. Beverly Perdue upon his arrival to Charlotte, N.C. , Friday, April 2, 2010.

The Republicans won a majority in BOTH houses of the North Carolina General Assembly last November – first time since the late 1800’s!!!  There are 50 members in the Senate and 120 members in the House.  Sixty eight Republicans and fifty one Dems (was 52 but one resigned 3/3/2011)

The N.C. House  voted this week to join the lawsuit against Obamacare.

The Democrat Governor vetoed it.

The Republicans needed a 3/5 vote to override her veto (72).  A straight party line vote of 68-51 upheld it.  She’s a blonde.  Apparently she’s too effing stupid to realize that Obamacare has been ruled unfriggingconstitutional!  DOWN IN FLAMES, BEV!  DOWN…. IN…. FLAMES!!!!!!

Remember this asshole? I will never be convinced that he had not just left a four-martini lunch when he ran into these two guys (who may or may not have been republican operatives – that doesn’t matter – his behavior was wrong and cost him re-election.)

Well our illustrious democrat Governor Bev Purdue has hired Ethridge for $100K a year to – ARE YOU SITTING DOWN, AMERICA? – TO OVERSEE THE STIMULUS SPENDING for the state. But wait! 80% of the stimulus we got is already earmarked!

“RALEIGH, N.C. — Former U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge will head the North Carolina Office of Economic Recovery and Investment, Gov. Bev Perdue said Tuesday.  Money will go through the program through at least 2012, but nearly 80 percent of the recovery funds have already been spent. Etheridge will oversee how the money is dispersed and make sure projects under contract are getting done."

Etheridge, 69, was defeated in November by 2nd District Congresswoman Renee Ellmers. (The absolute high point of the 2010 elections for me!)

I found this saved on my computer - it's old and I don't know where I got it.... but it's as pertinent today as ever before.... and as scary.

* * * * * * * * * * *

Once upon a time, I was invited to the White House for a private dinner with President Obama.  I am a respected businessman, with a factory that produces memory chips for computers and portable electronics.  There was some talk that my industry was being scrutinized by the administration, but I paid it no mind.  I live in a free country.  There's nothing that the government can do to me, if I've broken no laws.  My wealth was earned honestly and an invitation to dinner with an American President is an honor.

I checked my coat, was greeted by the Chief of Staff and joined the President in a yellow dining room.  We sat across from each other at a table draped in white linen. The Great Seal was embossed on the china.  Uniformed staff served our dinner.

The meal was served and I was startled when my waiter suddenly reached out, plucked a dinner roll off my plate and began nibbling it as he walked back to the kitchen.

"Sorry about that," said the President.  "Andrew is very hungry."

"I don't appreciate..."  I began, but as I looked into the calm brown eyes across from me, I felt immediately guilty and petty. It was just a dinner roll. "Of course," I concluded and reached for my glass.  Before I could however, another waiter reached forward, took the glass away and swallowed the wine in a single gulp.

"And his brother Eric is very thirsty." said the President.

I didn't say anything.  The President is testing my compassion, I thought.  I will play along.  I don't want to seem unkind.  My plate was whisked away before I had tasted a bite.

"Eric's children are also quite hungry."

With a lurch, I crashed to the floor.  My chair had been pulled out from under me.  I stood, brushing myself off angrily and watched as it was carried from the room.

"And their grandmother can't stand for long."

I excused myself, smiling outwardly, but inside feeling like a fool.  Obviously I had been invited to the White House to be sport for some game.  I reached for my coat, to find that it had been taken.  I turned back to the President.

"Their grandfather doesn't like the cold."

I wanted to shout - that was my coat!  But again, I looked at the placid smiling face of my host and decided I was being a poor sport.  I spread my hands helplessly and chuckled.  Then I felt my hip pocket and realized my wallet was gone.  I excused myself and walked to a phone on an elegant side table.  I learned shortly that my credit cards had been maxed out, my bank accounts emptied, my retirement and equity portfolios had vanished and my wife had been thrown out of our home.

Apparently, the waiters and their families were moving in.  The President hadn't moved or spoken as I learned all this, but finally I lowered the phone into its cradle and turned to face him.

"Andrew's whole family has made bad financial decisions.  They haven't planned for retirement and they need a house.  They recently defaulted on a sub-prime mortgage.  I told them they could have your home.  They need it more than you do."

My hands were shaking.  I felt faint.  I stumbled back to the table and knelt on the floor.  The President cheerfully cut his meat, ate his steak and drank his wine.

I lowered my eyes and stared at the small grey circles on the tablecloth that were water drops.

"By the way," He added, "I have just signed an Executive Order nationalizing your factories.  I'm firing you as head of your business.  I'll be operating the firm now for the benefit of all mankind.  There's a whole bunch of Eric's and Andrew's out there and they can't come to you for jobs groveling like beggars."

I looked up.  The President dropped his spoon into the empty ramekin which had been his creme brulee.  He drained the last drops of his wine.  As the table was cleared, he lit a cigarette and leaned back in his chair. He stared at me.

I clung to the edge of the table as if were a ledge and I were a man hanging over an abyss.  I thought of the years behind me, of the life I had lived.  The life I had earned with a lifetime of work, risk and struggle.  Why was I being punished?  How had I allowed all I had worked for to be taken from me?  What game had I played and lost?  I looked across the table and noticed with some surprise that there was no game board between us. What had I done wrong?

As if answering the unspoken thought, the President suddenly cocked his head, locked his empty eyes to mine and bared a million teeth, chuckling wryly as he folded his hands… and said…

"You should have stopped me at the dinner roll."

3/11/2012:  Today I stumbled upon a video of a man talking about this story, claiming that he wrote it and posted it on his website:

I went to the aforementioned site and could not find his name, so I will take his word that he was the author, and I will leave the link to his page on this post.

The 'contest' deadline for high school applications vying to have the president speak at graduation has been extended.  Last year, over a thousand schools participated in the chance to 'win' Obama as the graduation speaker.  Seems this year there are only 68 applicants.   The problem HAS to be with the USPS losing the entries.... or wait.... it's Bush's fault!

I found this site clicking around.... and when I landed here I clicked around s'more.  Then I googled the author, and I don't know how I've missed hearing of him. But I will definitely be keeping up with him in the future!
