FREEDOM OF RELIGION.... IS UNDER ASSAULT AND DYING

THE FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.


The First Amendment of the United States Constitution protects the right to freedom of religion and freedom of expression from government interference.  Freedom of expression consists of the rights to (among other things):

FREEDOM OF RELIGION - Two clauses in the First Amendment guarantee freedom of religion.  The ESTABLISHMENT CLAUSE prohibits the government from passing legislation to establish an official religion or preferring one religion over another. It enforces the "separation of church and state."  The free exercise clause prohibits the government, in most instances, from interfering with a person's practice of their religion.

On April 24, 2015, candidate for President Hillary Clinton make the following statementat the sixth annual Women in The World Summit:
 “Deep-seated cultural codes, RELIGIOUS BELIEFS and structural biases have to be changed” for the sake of giving women access to “reproductive health care and safe childbirth.”  [i.e. ABORTION]


A Pentecostal chaplain once assigned to elite Navy SEAL units may be kicked out of the Navy for allegedly scolding sailors for homosexuality and premarital sex.


In January 2013, Sweet Cakes by Melissa Bakery declined to make a wedding cake for the Bowman-Cryers, citing their religious beliefs…
The [lesbian] couple filed a discrimination complaint with the Bureau of Labor and Industries…On July 2, 2015, the Gresham bakery that wouldn't make a wedding cake for a lesbian couple must pay them $135,000 in damages, the Bureau of Labor and Industries ruled Thursday.

  2. Going to go horribly off topic. How are your 'Blondies'? I'm about 300 miles NW from you and 2000 feet higher and have not had even one hummer. First time in maybe 65 years.

    1. About 8 of that 'blonde' family are here this year - and one is now called 'Whitey'... we probably only have 35-40 hummers this year.... I can't leave for a day without getting a neighbor to feed them! But they are a total joy, sit on my hands to dine.... and love a 'cold one' late on a hot afternoon..............
