Remember this asshole? I will never be convinced that he had not just left a four-martini lunch when he ran into these two guys (who may or may not have been republican operatives – that doesn’t matter – his behavior was wrong and cost him re-election.)
Well our illustrious democrat Governor Bev Purdue has hired Ethridge for $100K a year to – ARE YOU SITTING DOWN, AMERICA? – TO OVERSEE THE STIMULUS SPENDING for the state. But wait! 80% of the stimulus we got is already earmarked!
“RALEIGH, N.C. — Former U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge will head the North Carolina Office of Economic Recovery and Investment, Gov. Bev Perdue said Tuesday. Money will go through the program through at least 2012, but nearly 80 percent of the recovery funds have already been spent. Etheridge will oversee how the money is dispersed and make sure projects under contract are getting done."
Etheridge, 69, was defeated in November by 2nd District Congresswoman Renee Ellmers. (The absolute high point of the 2010 elections for me!)
