MY THOUGHTS ON TRAYVON MARTIN AND GEORGE ZIMMERMAN

I have been following this VERY closely since the day the news broke and the first headline hit about the DOJ planning an investigation.  This was followed immediately by the Panderer-in-chief’s comment that if he had a son, he would look like Trayvon. 

From that day forward, there was no turning back.  With the blessing of the AG and the President, the race baiters cranked up their machine.  It is my complete, firm and CONTINUING belief that the DOJ jumped into this because the perp’s name was ZIMMERMAN.  I honestly believe Holder had NO IDEA that ‘Zimmerman’ was an Hispanic man.  Who would ever think that, based on his name?  My suspicions grew even more concrete with the new label of ‘WHITE Hispanic’ – that was the most obvious attempt by the mainstream leftist media to keep this crime racial.  The so-called black leaders like Sharpton and Jackson made hay, and then the Congressional Black Caucus jumped in. 

Michelle Williams, Chief of Staff for the Tampa, FL branch of the New Black Panther Party [NBPP], told Party members to get ready for a "race war."

"I just wanna say to all the listeners on this phone call if you are having any doubts about getting suited, booted, and armed up for this race war we in (sic) that has never ended, let me tell ya somethin' -- the things that's about to happen to these honkies, these crackers, these pigs, these pink people, these mother-f**ker (inaudible) people, it has been long overdue."

With that, the NBPP placed a $10,000 bounty on Zimmerman’s head – wanted dead or alive.  WTH‼!  Is this the wild west?  UNITED STATES Attorney General Eric Holder has remained completely silent on this.  Then the Neo-Nazis showed up.  Haven’t seen a whole lot of protesting, marching and demonstrating since then.

Time passed.  Facts came out.  A witness came forward.  A special prosecutor was appointed.  Pictures came out.  Zimmerman is now being held on a second degree murder charge.

4/20/12 Update:  Zimmerman has been indicted and bond has been set at $150,000.  At the bond hearing, Zimmerman [5’9” tall] apologized for killing Martin [a 6’3” high school football player].  "I did not know how old he was. I thought he was a little bit younger than I am, and I did not know if he was armed or not," Zimmerman testified at the hearing.

The arrest affidavit states 5 reasons leading to the 2^nd degree murder charge:

First, police told Zimmerman to not pursue Trayvon. "The police dispatcher informed Zimmerman that an officer was on the way and to wait for the officer."  [Is there PROOF that he did NOT wait, or return to his car?]

It also mentions a friend Martin was on the phone with, we assume this is his girlfriend, and she's been interviewed saying, "The witness advised that Martin [6’3] was scared because he was being followed through the complex by an unknown male [5’9] and didn't know why."

Later it states  - "Martin attempted to run home but was followed by Zimmerman who didn't want the person he falsely assumed was going to commit a crime to get away before police arrived."

And then probably the most important part  - "Zimmerman confronted Martin and a struggle ensued."  [Do we really know who confronted whom?]

The affidavit also mentions the 911 calls, stating - "Trayvon Martin's mother has....identified the voice crying for help as Trayvon Martin's voice." 

A quote from one of the early paragraphs of the indictment:

"On Sunday 2/26/12, Trayvon Martin was temporarily living at the Retreat at Twin Lakes, a gated community in Sanford, Seminole County, Florida. That evening Martin walked to a nearby 7-11 Store where he purchased a can of iced tea and some Skittles. Martin then walked back to and entered the gated community and was on his way back to the townhouse where he was living when he was profiled by George Zimmerman. Martin was unarmed and was not committing a crime."

[Special Prosecutor Angela] Corey’s team already made two unsubstantiated claims.  First: there is no publicly known evidence that supports the contention that Zimmerman 'profiled' Trayvon Martin.  The second unsubstantiated claim: They say Martin was not committing or preparing to commit a crime. Zimmerman became suspicious because he saw a figure who struck him as a person casing houses for burglary potential.  Unbeknownst to Zimmerman at the time was the fact that Martin had been suspended from school for the possession of a 'burglary tool.'  We don’t know what Martin was thinking, but his actions were erratic enough to prompt George Zimmerman to want police to investigate.

The next troublesome claim is the lead sentence of the following paragraph: 

Zimmerman, who also lived in the gated community and was driving his vehicle, observed Martin and assumed he was a criminal.  Perhaps it is hair-splitting, but there is no evidence to support Corey’s claim that Zimmerman assumed Martin was a criminal."

My thoughts on this – for what they are worth.  Angela Corey opted NOT to take Zimmerman’s case to the grand Jury.  I think this was for one of two reasons – either she had enough evidence to prosecute Zimmerman for second degree murder [and I just do NOT see it in the arrest affidavit] OR she didn’t have shit for evidence, and the Grand Jury would have tossed the case out AND racial hell really WOULD have broken out.  I believe it’s the latter – which I find disgusting because it’s subjugating the LAW for POLITICS. 

I also believe Zimmerman will not be convicted, should he go to trial.  There is the possibility of a plea bargain but if I were Zimmerman’s lawyer I would advise against it because it will mean a permanent criminal record.  Going to trial would be a crapshoot because you don’t know what your jury will look like.  Sadly juries these days are mostly composed of NON-working adults  - enough said. [Recall the O.J. jury]

One more update as of today, 4/20/12:  ABC is running exclusive photos of the back of Zimmerman’s head with blood pouring down.  Ummm…. Where were these pictures in February right after the shooting?  Where were these pictures the entire month of MARCH as the race baiters fanned the flames of racism?  Where were these photos the first three weeks of April?  Did Ms. Corey SEE these before she dreamed up this indictment?

One other line of thought.  Trayvon was a wannabe punk, he had pics HE had put out there, looking like a badass, yet the press tried really hard to show him as the sweet kid in the pictures when he was 13.  Secondly, he was visiting his father BECAUSE HE HAD BEEN SUSPENDED FROM SCHOOL. 

It was also said early on that Trayvon was on his cell with his girlfriend when he was killed.  The police have his cell, they have the girlfriend’s number and surely they have interviewed her.  SHE is the one who first said she was talking with Trayvon.  The arrest affidavit mentions her.  I think the prosecutor should publish HER sworn statement.  Getting questioned by a police detective tends to clear up one’s confusion about the facts.  I would love to know what her SWORN affidavit of the night’s events looks like.  Expect the defense to pick that apart.

Trayvon’s mom came out a couple of weeks ago and said she thought the killing was an accident.  In my opinion, Mom has had an epiphany regarding her baby boy and the information about HIM that will come out at trial.  Sadly, the wheels of the justice she and the black community have been screaming for are now turning.  It’s too late to say let’s forgive and forget.

Finally .... Zimmerman had apparently called 911 several times before that fateful night..... he had NEVER shot a single trespasser.... think about that.
