What a fucking joke! I got a virus.... called Customer Service at McAfee - yessssssss, they can get rid of the virus - will only cost you $89.95. WTF!!! I paid for FOUR LICENSES for McAfee to PROTECT ME! Helloooooooooooo! I'm a dumb blonde but not that FRIGGING DUMB!
Tell me why I would pay McAfee $89.95 to remove a virus that THEY LET GET BY THEM??? I don't think so, Tim!
Pisson'em
This is why we told McAfee bye bye
ReplyDeleteGet Malwarebytes. One time fee, GREAT service technical help. I use it and nothing else!
ReplyDeleteAVG seems to be a better product.
ReplyDeleteGot that from a fellow that ran an ISP. They get to try out all the new viruses early.
Had the same problem with McAfee. Told them bye-bye also. Get AVG and Spybot and Malwarebytes haven't had a problem since. (knock on wood)
ReplyDeleteShould have included that those three got rid of the problem and were free. Also think that MaAfee caused the problem since they should have caught it.
ReplyDeleteMcAfee is little more than malware. We have been very pleased with Avast. Free download.
ReplyDeleteI have not used McFee or Norton (which I believe from experience to be somewhere between unable and aggressively evil, nor AVG that I don't kn ow anything about since I found F-Prot -- $30.00 I think, for five licenses for home use.
ReplyDeleteOn the rare problem (NEVER regarding a virus issue, infrequently about something stupid I've done) an email is answered within hours of the next time it is daylight in Europe.
I swear, it is almost as if the viruses have code that tests for the presence of F-Prot and dies if it is resident.
I am just a customer, but I paid for two years the last time I renewed. http://f-prot.com/
I just found your post and sorry we have the same issue! I just downloaded this stupid program and now I have a worm on my computer that stops all .exe programs. Grrr I am so mad
